Most delays in international shipping do not happen at sea. They happen in the gaps — between the supplier and the trucker, between the trucker and the port, between the paperwork and the customs officer. Every handover is a place where a shipment can stall for days while nobody is quite sure who owns the problem.
AL-jarazi exists to close those gaps. We are a freight forwarding and logistics company based in Salalah, working directly with Salalah Port, Omani customs offices and the regional transport network. Because we sit where the cargo enters and leaves the country, we are not coordinating your shipment from a desk in another market — we are handling it where it actually moves.
Whether you are importing raw materials into Oman, bringing stock in from China or India, or receiving a single consolidated pallet from the Gulf, the structure is the same: one team, one plan, one person you can call.
Where Your Cargo Comes From
Salalah sits on the Arabian Sea, outside the Strait of Hormuz, on the main east–west shipping lane. That makes it a direct gateway into Oman — these are the import corridors we bring cargo in through.
China & Far East → Salalah
The busiest import lane into Dhofar — full containers and consolidated cargo from Chinese and Asian suppliers, booked on mainline services calling directly at Salalah Port.
India & Pakistan → Salalah
One of the shortest sea links into Oman, bringing foodstuffs, building materials and general cargo from Indian and Pakistani ports, with container and groupage options.
UAE → Salalah
Road and sea cargo from Dubai, Jebel Ali and Sharjah into Salalah, with customs coordination on both sides of the border and consolidation options for smaller loads.
Saudi Arabia & the GCC → Salalah
Cross-border trucking from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain into Oman, with full documentation support for GCC transit.
Europe & Turkey → Salalah
Machinery, spare parts and specialised equipment from European and Turkish suppliers, by sea or by air for time-critical consignments.
Salalah → Across Oman
Once cleared, your cargo is delivered onward to Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Duqm or any address in the Sultanate.

Transit windows are indicative and depend on vessel schedules, carrier availability, customs processing and the final delivery point. A firm quotation is issued once the cargo details are confirmed.
Five Services, One Coordinated Shipment
Each stage is handled by the same team, so nothing is lost in the handover between supplier, carrier, customs and the final delivery address.
Sea & Air Freight
Container and groupage sea freight through Salalah Port, plus air freight for time-critical consignments. We book the space, issue the documentation and track the shipment against its schedule — and tell you early when a schedule slips, rather than after the fact.
Road Transport & Cross-Border Trucking
Cargo movement across Oman and into GCC markets, with routing planned around border crossings, permitted hours and delivery windows. Suitable for full truckloads, part loads and repeat distribution runs between Dhofar and the north.
Customs Clearance in Oman
Preparation and submission of customs documentation, HS classification support, duty and compliance checks, and release coordination with the authorities. The paperwork is reviewed before the cargo arrives, which is where most clearance delays are actually prevented.
Warehousing & Distribution
Short and long-term storage with order handling and onward distribution. Useful for importers who need stock held near the port, and for exporters consolidating several suppliers into a single outbound shipment.
Door-to-Door Delivery
Collection, freight, clearance and final-mile delivery organised as one service under a single point of accountability. You deal with one company and one invoice instead of chasing three suppliers across two countries.
From Enquiry to Delivery in Four Stages
A process designed so you always know which stage your shipment is in, and what happens next.
Share Your Cargo Details
Send the commodity, weight or volume, origin and destination. We confirm the best freight mode and the realistic transit window.
Quotation & Booking
You receive a written quotation showing what is included. On approval, space and transport are booked and the schedule is confirmed.
Documents & Clearance
Paperwork is prepared and checked in advance, and customs procedures are handled so the cargo is not held on arrival.
Transport & Delivery
The shipment moves to its final address, with updates along the way and confirmation once delivery is complete.
Industries We Move Cargo For
Different sectors fail in different ways. These are the ones whose requirements we plan around most often.
Local Presence Is What Makes a Schedule Reliable
A freight quotation is easy to produce. What is difficult is keeping the shipment on the schedule that the quotation promised — and that depends almost entirely on how close the forwarder is to the operation.
Working from Salalah means we are dealing with the port, the customs offices and the transport network every working day. When a vessel schedule changes, when a document is queried, when a truck needs rerouting, the response happens the same day, locally, by people who already know the file.
That is the difference we sell. Not the cheapest rate on every lane, but a shipment that behaves the way you were told it would — which, for a business planning production, stock or a site handover, is worth considerably more.
Shipping Through Oman — Answered
The questions businesses ask most often before booking their first shipment with us.
A freight forwarder arranges and manages the movement of your cargo rather than owning every vehicle and vessel involved. In practice that means selecting the freight mode, booking space with carriers, preparing and submitting shipping and customs documentation, arranging inland transport at both ends, and tracking the shipment through to delivery. AL-jarazi provides sea freight, air freight, road transport, customs clearance, warehousing and door-to-door delivery as a single coordinated service from Salalah.
Road freight from the main UAE commercial centres to Salalah typically moves within a few days, depending on the border crossing, the cargo type and the delivery point. Sea freight timings depend on the vessel schedule and whether the cargo is a full container or consolidated with other shipments. Use the shipment planner above for an indicative window, and contact us with your cargo details for a schedule tied to actual sailings and trucking availability.
For most commercial shipments you will need a commercial invoice, a packing list, the bill of lading or air waybill, and a certificate of origin. Depending on the commodity, additional approvals or permits may be required from the relevant Omani authority — food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, telecoms equipment and certain machinery each carry their own requirements. We review the document set against the commodity before the cargo arrives, which is where most avoidable clearance delays are caught.
Yes. Consolidated or groupage cargo (LCL) lets smaller shippers pay for the space they actually use instead of booking a full container. It is the usual route for traders, SMEs and businesses testing a new market. The trade-off is that consolidated cargo is subject to the consolidation schedule, so transit is generally longer than a direct full container load — we will tell you which is the better economics for your volume.
Salalah sits on the Arabian Sea, outside the Strait of Hormuz, directly on the main east–west shipping lane between Asia and Europe. That gives it strong mainline vessel connectivity and makes it a practical transshipment point for cargo moving between Asia, the Gulf and Africa. For businesses in Dhofar and southern Oman it is also the closest gateway, which removes a long domestic trucking leg from the cost.
Send the commodity, the approximate weight or volume, the pickup location and the final destination, along with any deadline you are working to. That is enough for us to confirm the freight mode and issue a written quotation. If you are not sure what information is relevant, run the shipment planner above and send us the summary — it captures what we need to start.
